This is who we are!

Making God known since 1960

About YWAM San José, Costa Rica

The vision for YWAM San José was born in 1999 when God spoke about a community of young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who needed to be reached in the nation of Costa Rica. In July 2004 we began the base, and in 2005 we started our first Discipleship Training School (DTS).

Currently we run 4 DTS’s per year, and the following Secondary schools: Foundations in Community Development (FCD), School of Worship (SOW), Bible Core Course (BCC), and the Islamic Studies Seminar (ISS). Once you have completed the DTS you can apply to be full-time staff with YWAM as well as apply to any secondary schools within the University of the Nations, at YWAM San Jose or any other YWAM location around the world.

Our training programs

Each school is designed to awaken a passion for Jesus, His Word, and knowing His character with the goal to equip the individual with the tools necessary to transform nations. Contact us for more information about our schools.

Along with our training schools, we also reach out to Costa Rica through the ministries of Bibles for Costa Rica, Hope Sports, Of Broken Wings Productions, Homes of Hope, Mercy Trucks (medical ministry), and by hosting short-term mission teams and outreaches from other YWAM locations.

A global movement

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth involved in missions. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also involve people aged 9 to 90. We currently have tens of thousands of staff (called “YWAMers”) and we work in thousands of teams and locations.

One of the joys of participating in YWAM is to work with people from many nations. YWAM’s staff come from nearly every country in the world, including places like Indonesia, Nepal, Mozambique, and Colombia.

We invite you to join us! Type a city name or a ministry idea into the search box below. Discover how you can use your gifts and callings in the YWAM world.

YWAM IN ONE MINUTE

Find out the basics in this video.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mathew: 28:18-20
