About Us

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) San Jose, Costa Rica began in July 2004. In a few short years, we have seen over 465 students pass through our schools, coming to a deeper knowledge of who God is and discovering the plan God has for their lives.

We have also hosted over four thousand young people who have come to Costa Rica for short-term mission trips over the last several years. Most of our ministry has been focused on the poor & needy. Doing ministry in many different poor neighborhoods in & around San Jose. And we are now beginning ministry to some small rural communities throughout the country

We currently offer 5 different schools, the Discipleship Training School (DTS), which currently includes five different focuses, the Classic DTS, & the Xtreme Adventure DTS, the Backpackers DTS, the Soccer DTS & the Photography DTS.  We also offer four secondary schools, Foundations in Community Development (FCD), School of Worship (SOW), Children at Risk School (CRS) & the Bible Core Course (BCC) . The prerequisite for these secondary schools is having successfully completing a DTS.

First of all, each school is designed to awaken a passion for Jesus, His word and knowing His character. Secondly, to equip the individual with the tools necessary to transform the nations. This lifestyle of learning and applying biblical teaching allows God to daily transform our lives.

Praise and worship, healing, intercession and fellowship are all high values and provide us with an environment that encourages us to seek after the dreams of God, and work towards making them a reality in our lives.
